Changing Nappies
As part of its strategy to reduce waste Surrey Heath Borough Council is running a pilot scheme in conjunction with Frimley Park Hospital and our local nappy washing service, Nifty Nappies, to encourage new mothers to use re-usable nappies in preference to disposables.
New mothers who would like to take part in this scheme are asked to sign up and will be provided with a starter pack and four weekly deliveries of nappies. The cost of this is £54.30, £25.00 of which will be paid by Surrey Heath Borough Council (if you are in receipt of Income Support then £50.00 will be paid by the Council).
At present new mothers are asked to take disposable nappies into hospital but mothers who have signed up to the scheme will take the re-usable nappies and will be provided with the equipment to transport dirty nappies home.
As part of the evaluation of the scheme you will be asked to fill in a questionnaire after three and six months.
