Kevin Cantlon Shopfront Improvement Scheme

Surrey Heath Borough Council continue to recognise the legacy of Kevin Cantlon, the Council’s Economic Development Officer who sadly passed away suddenly in 2017. Kevin was a genuine and dedicated officer for the Council and as a mark of respect the Council agreed to dedicate this fund as a legacy to Kevin.

The Surrey Heath Shopfront Improvement Grant scheme offers grants of up to £3,500 to businesses to improve and enhance their shop front, windows, doors and signage.

The conditions of our high streets and shopping areas have a significant impact on people’s perception of an area. This scheme aims to improve shop frontages and support the growth of local businesses whilst improving the local environment and raising the image of the area amongst local residents and visitors.

Whilst street improvements can go some way to addressing this issue, high quality frontages and vibrant shops also make an area feel more welcoming to local residents and visitors, improve its image, contribute towards a stronger sense of identity, and encourage a greater number of visits.
