The Blackwater Valley Enterprise Trust has assisted thousands of clients seeking to start up a new business or develop an existing small business in Hampshire, Surrey and Berkshire.
As a not for profit company with sponsorship from the public and private sectors, it offers either free support or help at a nominal cost and is a member of the National Federation of Enterprise Agencies. Free, confidential, and independent advice is provided from its team of experienced accredited business advisers who can meet at any of the trust's locations.
A training workshop programme is available and includes a free introductory workshop (currently funded by Barclays Bank) that covers issues involved in starting a business. There are also various workshops on offer to support specific business needs, such as book-keeping and marketing - all held by leaders who are accredited to national standards.

Business Breakfast consultation meetings
The council's consultation meeting, which take the form of a twice-yearly business breakfast, are held usually around the last Tuesday in January and September. All businesses in the borough are able to attend and discuss topical issues as well as finances.

Surrey Chambers of Commerce has three main purposes. Firstly, to provide a forum for local businesses to network which in turn benefits the local economy; secondly, to provide services and discount schemes which directly help businesses to be more cost effective and thirdly, to represent the view of businesses to government, both local and national.
